Making Liquid Gold

When I originally photographed the Bachanal Mas at London’s Notting Hill Carnival it immediately struck me how amazing it would be to see the images of their painted-soaked bodies in metallic gold. After a lot of experimentation, I’m delighted to say that they now can be. Courtesy of a special ultraviolet printing technique, a limited edition series of metallic prints have now been created by fine art printers Genesis Imaging.

After their recent exhibition in London, the prints attracted a lot of attention and questions from those who saw them and I thought I would make a short video to explain how they came about and my approach to photography.
